United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

In September 2015, all 193 Member States of the United Nations adopted a plan for achieving a better future for all — laying out a path over the next 15 years to end extreme poverty, fight inequality and injustice, and protect our planet. At the heart of “Agenda 2030” are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) also known as the Global Goals for Sustainable Development, which clearly define the world we want — applying to all nations and leaving no one behind.

The new Global Goals result from a process that has been more inclusive than ever, with Governments involving business, civil society and citizens from the outset. We are all in agreement on where the world needs to go. Achieving these ambitions will take an unprecedented effort by all sectors in society the business community and individual businesses has to play a very important role in the process.

Today’s consumers hold companies to higher standards. They are looking for more than just material products or quality services when choosing a company to work with: Nine in 10 consumers expect companies to not only make a profit, but also operate responsibly to address social and environmental issues.

Undertaking socially responsible initiatives is truly a win-win situation. Not only will your company appeal to socially conscious consumers and employees, but you’ll also make a real difference in the world. Keep in mind that in Corporate and Social Responsibility (CSR) or an Environment, Social Governance (ESG), transparency and honesty about what you’re doing are paramount to earning the public’s trust.

Whether you are looking to produce a CSR or ESG strategy, or benchmark yourself against your competition, produce a CSR or ESG report, align your strategies to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, engage your stakeholders, employees, community or supply chain, submit an award application or just find out where you are and how you can move forward, we can help.
