Crow Wood Hotel & Spa is a multi-award-winning luxury resort located in Burnley, Lancashire.
Renowned for its state-of-the-art spa facilities, exceptional dining, and luxurious accommodations, Crow Wood is a destination of choice for leisure and business visitors alike. With sustainability at the forefront of its business ethos, the resort continues to invest in green technologies to reduce its environmental impact and enhance its energy efficiency.
- System size: 1,127 kWp
- Generates: 981,927 kWh annually
- Carbon saving per annum: 196 tonnes annually
The project aimed to address rising energy demands while reducing the resort’s carbon footprint, with the ultimate goal of achieving self-sufficiency in energy production, particularly during the summer months.
By March 2024, we got to work installing over 2,200 solar panels, that would eventually deliver an impressive 891,927 kWh of clean energy annually. This is equivalent to powering 350 average UK homes and reducing CO emissions by 196 tonnes every year.
Despite weather-related challenges at the time of installation, just three months later, the project was complete. The system now offsets a fantastic 27% of Crow Wood’s electricity needs and forms a key component in the resort’s energy strategy and sustainability initiatives.
